The Client
Glasgow Life is the charity responsible for delivering many of Glasgow’s cultural, sporting, and learning services. From libraries and museums to community sport and events, their work supports the wellbeing and development of people across the city.
The Challenge
Amna and her team were looking for additional insight to support an important hiring decision. They wanted an objective way to assess candidates against the behaviours and competencies that truly predict success in the role, while also reducing bias in the interview process.
Our Approach
We began by meeting with the team to understand the role requirements and the competencies needed for success.
From there, we developed a bespoke candidate assessment report, built using Hogan personality data and mapped directly to the role criteria.
Our report included:
- Mapping the five key competencies for the role to Hogan’s predictive scales
- A numerical score for each candidate against every competency
- Insight into energy and drive, relationship and communication style, and decision-making approach
- Identification of potential performance risks or derailers
- Targeted interview prompts designed to explore any potential risk areas further
The Outcome
The report provided the hiring team with clear, evidence-based insight to support their decision-making.
We then held a debrief session with the hiring manager, walking through the reports in detail, answering questions, and ensuring they felt confident interpreting the data ahead of the final interview stage.
Client feedback
“If you haven’t used Hogans before, the volume of information can feel overwhelming. 3 Minute Mile’s approach, combining the vacancy brief, organisational context, and the snapshot report, all helps focus on the areas worth exploring more deeply with candidates. Jeremy’s debrief with the hiring panel brought everything together seamlessly, providing a fair and balanced overview.”
